WORCESTER-Diane (Tsoules) Fitzpatrick, 52, of 27 Hancock Hill Drive, died Friday, May 6th in UMass Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She leaves her beloved husband of 26 years, Thomas L. Fitzpatrick; 3 children, Athena of New York City, Matthew, a student at Villanova University; and Nicole, a student at Wake Forest University, her mother, Athena (Drapos) Tsoules, a brother Evans Tsoules of Worcester, a sister, Mary Tsoules of Framingham and a large extended family to which she was lovingly devoted. A brother James Tsoules died in 1954.
She was born in Worcester, her father was the late William Tsoules. She graduated from Wheelock College, earned a masters degree from Assumption College and taught special education for the Worcester Public Schools for nearly 30 years. Diane took special joy in teaching children to read. She earned the love and boundless respect of colleagues, students and countless friends for her selfless devotion to others. Her family is grateful to have laughed with her everyday. She loved decorating, cooking and entertaining family and friends. Diane had the gift of making each day a special occasion.
The funeral is Monday, May 9th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, May 8th from 5:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home. Diane was very active with her husband in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
