Dorothy Young McClelland, 84, of Tifton passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Golden Living Center in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. McClelland at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Lenox City Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Rev. Jimmie Hinson will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 4, 2015, immediately following the service at Lenox City Cemetery.
Mrs. McClelland was born October 19, 1930 in Ocilla, the daughter of John Henry Young and Lila Mae Howell Young, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hoover McClelland; and two brothers, Billy Hubert Young and Bobby Herbert Young. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. McClelland is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Sue and Ronnie White of Willacoochee; a son-in-law, Neal McBrayer of Tifton; two brothers, John Ellis Young of Indiana and Bennie Gene Young of Deland, Florida; two sisters, Mildred Booth of Tifton and Emma Lee Rowland of Deland, Florida; one grandson Charles Justin McBrayer; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Jade McBrayer and Colby Justin McBrayer, both of Willacoochee; and several nieces and nephews.
