Edward R. Cain, 82, of Bedford, MA died May 6, 2005 at the Bedford Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Cambridge, son of the late James M. and Kathryn (Ryan) Cain, he was raised in Belmont before joining the Army during World War II and traveling the world.
He served as Major in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, the American Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include a son; a daughter; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the brother of the late James M. Cain, Jr.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 9th at 12 Noon in St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
