Obituary

WORCESTER-Thomas E. Smith, 86, of 5 Suburban Road died Thursday, May 5th in the Hermitage Nursing Home. He leaves his wife of 67 years Bernice D. (Wilson) Smith, 2 step-sister Evelyn Brann of Worcester and Marion Austin of Winthrop, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. His daughter Rheta V. Gray died in 2003, and a brother James m. Smith predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of James M. and Fannie V. (Harris) Smith and was a graduate of Commerce High School. Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy during World War 2. He had been employed by Heald Machine for 41 years as a machine operator ret9ring in 1983.

The funeral is Monday, May 9th with a service at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral Monday, May 9th.
