
Violet L. (Rochette) Lajoie, 71, of 359 Main St., Cherry Valley
section of Leicester, died Thursday May 5, in St. Vincent Hospital after an
illness.
She leaves her husband of 53 years Gerald H. Lajoie, two sons David O. and
his wife Mary Lajoie of Leicester, Robert E. and his wife Tammy Lajoie of
Cherry Valley, five daughters Susan M. and her husband Richard O'Brien of
Leominster, Linda A. and her husband David Wheeler of Blandon, Pa., Marie L.
Taft of Bluffton, S.C., Ann L.and her husband Dale DeYoung of Uxbridge and
Brenda J.and her husband Marc Daigle of Otisville, N.Y., two sisters Irene
Perro of Worcester and Anna White of Milford, Ct., 20 grandchildren, 2
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by
three brothers Edmund, Armand and Albert Rochette and a sister Alice
Goodwin.
Mrs. Lajoie was born in Worcester daughter of the late Rosario E. and Minnie
P. (Frappier) Rochette. She owned and operated The Candy Closet in Spencer
for 18 years before retiring in 2004. She was a member of Our Lady of the
Angels Church. She enjoyed crafts, her store and above all, her family.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 10 from MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME,
1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels
Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County
Memorial Park, Paxton . Calling hours are Monday, May 9 from 4:00-7:00 PM
in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
St. Vincent-De Paul Society, 507 Park Avenue, Worcester, Ma., 01603 or to
