WORCESTER—Elinor F. (Storms) Chester, 81, of Worcester, formerly of Auburn died Tuesday May 3rd in The Meadows of Leicester surrounded by her family. She leaves four daughters Linore V. Dawson of Berwyn, PA, Lorna R. Wilson of Dudley, Laurie A. Halpin of Auburn and Lita M. Killebrew of Holden; a sister Jean C. Hawley of Rutland; eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter; many nephews, nieces and her former husband Ernest A.R. Chester of Worcester. Her son Ronald C. Chester of Conn. died in 1994. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of William A. and Cecilia M. (Perkins) Storms, and was a 1942 graduate of the former Commerce High School. Mrs. Chester worked as a secretary in the personnel department of St. Vincent Hospital for 20 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and its Altar Guild and enjoyed sewing, dancing, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy and was an avid bingo player. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her numerous acts of kindness.
The funeral is Saturday May 7th with a service at 10:00 AM in All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are held Friday, May 6th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
