Louis J. Giannelli, Of Peabody, formerly of Boxford, died Tuesday at Renaissance Garden at Brooksby Village Retirement Community. He was 81.
Mr. Giannelli was born and raised in Medford, MA, the son of the late Domenico and the late Rose (Baldassarri) Giannelli. During World War II, he served with the US Navy. He was a co-founder of Omega Electric, an electrical contraction firm, with offices in Stoneham, Ma and Burlington, VT. A resident of Boxford, MA for 45 years, Lou enjoyed photography and world travel. As a resident of Broksby Villiage he was active with the Volunteer Service and Poets Club.
He was the beloved husband of Mary (Salvetti) and the late Ethel (Campilio) Giannelli. He was a devoted father to Sandra Dabransky and her husband Walter of Reading, Rose Ann Giannelli of Byfield. He was the step-father of Brenda Slipkowski of NH, Frank Stabile of TX and Mark Stabile of CT. Loving grandfather of Stephanie Klein. He was a loving great-grandfather of Abigail and Caroline. He was the dear brother of Lucy Catino, Angela, Fred and Ralph Giannelli, and the late Joseph Giannelli.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit Friday 3 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
