NEW BEDFORD -- Abbie F. Crowley, 98, of New Bedford, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at the Tabor Street Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of William T. Crowley.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Lena (Tripp) Reed. She lived in this community all of her life.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at the New Bedford Public Library and later in life was a cafeteria worker for the New Bedford School Department at Keith Junior High School.
Mrs. Crowley was a very active member of the Smith Mills Christian Congregational Church, Dartmouth. She was an avid reader of the Bible, a woman of deep faith and was well known as the sender of get well cards to many.
Survivors include a son, William D. Crowley and his wife Roxanne of New Bedford; a brother, Richard Reed and his wife, Frances of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late James F. Crowley and sister of the late Bernice Baier.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday May 9, 2005 in the Smith Mills Christian Congregational Church, North Dartmouth, Ma. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private
