WEST BOYLSTON-Robert L. Gamble, formerly of California, died Sunday, April 10th at 16 Hillside Village Drive. He leaves his daughter, Martha Flint of West Boylston, a son, Wicker Gamble of Fallbrook, CA, four grandchildren, Megan and Tacy Flint, Ramsay Behnam and Peter Gamble, and six great-grandchildren.
He was born in Fairmont, MN, the son of Arthur W. and Fannie (Bomboy) Gamble and was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. Mr. Gamble was a World War II Navy veteran. He had worked as an engineer for the John Deere Company and later for Utility Trailer before retiring. At age 82, Mr. Gamble earned a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from St. John’s College in Maryland, and was the oldest graduate student to accomplish this feat.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7th at 11:00 AM in the First Parish Church, 40 Church Street, Northborough. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice Program, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is directing arrangements.
