Obituary

Vince passed away on July 28, 2015 after a short illness at the age of 100. He was born on February 2, 1915 in Sheatown, Penn. one of six children. At age 2 his family moved to Wilkes-Barre Penn. where he attended grade school thru High School. In 1939 he met and married his wife Verna and eventually had two children Loretta and Bill. At this time he was working at the Glen Alden Coal Co, as a Fire-Boss inspecting the tunnels for gas levels.
In 1951 the family moved to Ventura where he went to work in the Oil Fields for Santa Fe energy and stayed with them for 26 years. He retired on April 1, 1977.
Vince was a life long gardener of Tomatoes, string beans, bell peppers, garlic and cucumbers for making pickles, a long with other vegetables, many of which he canned. One thing he enjoyed making was fresh salsa from his garden. He also enjoyed cooking and made many different dishes.
Through his life in California he and his wife Verna did a lot of traveling of the U.S., Canada, Alaska, Australia and Hawaii.
He is predeceased by his wife Verna and his daughter Loretta;
He is survived by his son Bill and wife Patti; 5 grandchildren; 7great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Saturday August 8, 2015 at 11am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura. Interment will immediately follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Vince's name to a charity of your choice.
