Obituary

Earle W. Scott, 86, of Mattapoisett died Monday May 2, 2005 at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mary S. (Machnicki) Scott; they had been married for 54 years.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Clifford and Janet (Green) Scott, he lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Mattapoisett 37 years ago.

Mr. Scott was formerly employed by Morse Cutting Tools as a flute grinder for 32 years until his retirement.

He was an avid golfer and former member of the Reservation Golf Club. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a former member of the Crimson Arrows.

Survivors include his wife; a niece and several nephews.

His Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2005 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett. His family will receive visitors from 10:30-11AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
