Obituary

Lauretta (Philibert) Landry, age 89, of New Bedford died May 1, 2005 at Sacred Heart Home, from complications of Alzheimer's and a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Paul E. Landry. Mr. and Mrs. Landry celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in November.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Horace and Rose Anna (Morin) Philibert, she lived in areas of Massachusetts, Parkersburg, West Virginia, and with her daughter Jacqueline Landry Scott, in New Bedford. She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church prior to moving to Sacred Heart Home.
As a young woman, Mrs. Landry worked in the textile industry but devoted her life to being a homemaker. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas, the Dartmouth Mall, playing bingo and most of all, being with her family. She especially loved special family occasions spent with her grandson Jeffrey Cochran of New Bedford and her great-grandchildren Alexis Cochran of Dartmouth and Joshua Cochran of New Bedford.
Survivors include her widower; a son, Paul E. Landry, Jr., and his wife Patricia, of Beverly Hills, Florida; a daughter, Jacqueline Landry Scott, and her husband Barry Scott, of New Bedford; three grandsons, Jeffrey Cochran and his companion, Terry Morris, of New Bedford, Paul Landry III and his wife Terri of Westford, David Landry and his wife Karen, of Acton, Maine; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Rose LaPointe, Lillian Roussel, Wilfred Philibert and Armand Philibert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Thursday, May 5th at 11:00 AM.
Visiting hours Wednesday, May 4th from 4-7 PM.
Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
