New Bedford – Kenneth R. Morse, 79, of Acushnet passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on July 25, 2015. He was husband of the late Beatrice (Ferreira) Morse. He passed away on what would have been their 56th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Morse was born in Acushnet, son of the late Richmond E. and Jennie F. (Ellis) Morse, and was a lifelong resident of the town. He was employed as a truck driver by the D.W. White Construction until his retirement. He was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. During his life he served his country in the Air Force, enjoyed fishing, taking a drive, and watching the boats at the waterfront.
Survivors include his daughters: Sharyn M. Prince and her husband, Michael,of Taunton, Lori A. Morse of Acushnet, Rebecca L. Silver Acushnet, Melissa A. Pepin and her husband, Matthew, of Fairhaven and Melanie L. Marujo and her husband, David, of Acushnet; a sister: Barbara L. White of Acushnet; a brother Richmond F. Morse of Acushnet; 5 grandchildren: Cassandra Bryant of AR, David Marujo III of SC, Corey Morse of Acushnet, Jeffrey Morse of Acushnet and Andre Kemp of Acushnet; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
By his own request, he will be cremated with no services.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Hathaway Manor and the Bourne unit staff at St. Luke’s for the wonderful care they provided.
