Moultonboro — Helen C. Sherkanowski, a long-time resident of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, died Friday the 24th of July, 2015 at her home, surrounded by family.
Born April 15, 1937 in Cambridge, MA, Helen moved from Medford, MA to her summer home in Moultonboro, NH in 1976, where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Helen opened the Coliseum Italian Restaurant, which she ran with her husband for seven year where she met many lifelong friends.
Helen had a great sense of humor a quick wit and always loved a good laugh. She was happiest when together with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her smile and charm could light up a room.
Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years John Sherkanowski, her son John and wife Meredith of Moultonboro, Chris and his wife Heidi of Gilford and Steven and his wife Lauren of Bedford. Her grandchildren Nathan Sherkanowski, Erica Lacasse and her husband Marc, Jennifer Rodriguez, Emili, Sophia, Erik and Grace Sherkanowski, her great grandchildren Sadie, Damien and Daniel Sherkanowski and Ava Thomas, who all brought great joy to her later years. She was preceded in death, by her grandson Zachary Sherkanowski.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 4pm-7pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 NH Rt 25, Meredith.
