Joanne E. Chaput, age 80, passed away on Thurs July 23, 2015 at the Redstone Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by her family. She was born on May 13, 1935 in Morrisville, VT to the late Louis R. and Celia M. (Rock) Liberty. She was a former communicant of St Patrick’s Church in Chicopee. She worked for many years before retiring as an Educational trainer on Westover Air Force Base. Joanne was predeceased by her husband William Chaput. She leaves one son William Chaput Jr. and his wife Kim of Chicopee; three daughters Karen Fortunato and her husband Anthony of Granby, Nancy Camerlin of Chicopee and Brenda Robertson and her husband John of San Francisco; two sisters Madeline Garten of Chicopee and Elizabeth Salvador of West Borough, MA, she also leaves four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Ascend Hospice for their care and compassion, especially Stephanie, Chip and Annette. Dads "Earth Angel" is finally coming home. A Funeral Service will be held on Mon July 27, 2015 at 10 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a funeral home prayer service to take place at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on the morning of the funeral from 10 AM until the time of service at 11AM.
