Obituary

Larry J. Carnuccio, 77, of Trinity, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. Larry was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 18, 1938, a son of the late Illario and Rose (Grillone) Carnuccio. Larry served his Country as a Specialist Third Class in the Philadelphia National Guard and received his Honorable Discharge in June of 1963. After graduation from the Philadelphia Institute of Technology Larry pursued his career in the area of software development. During the early 1970’s Larry was instrumental in the development of the automated supermarket checkout system, at that time called “Accuscan”, creating the software that we see used today in the supermarket industry. This system was initially developed by the RCA Corporation in Marlboro, MA and later by the Sperry Univac Corporation of Blue Bell, PA. During his career at AT&T in Florida, Larry was the recipient of the AT&T President’s Award for Excellence. Only a select few received this distinguished honor. Larry completed his career with Lucent Technologies in St. Petersburg FL as a Manager of Customer Support.
For those who knew him, Larry was a man who had a great love and passion for his family and a dedicated commitment to health and wellness. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed exercising, and his dogs, Niko and Starr, were a great part of his life and were his constant companions. No matter who Larry met, he touched their lives. He always left you happier then when he met you because as he said and believed “Life is Good” and “every day is Saturday”!
Larry is still loved by his wife of 41 years, Martha “Marti” Flynn Carnuccio of Trinity, FL; four children, Rosemary Lynch and her husband Dan of Lansing, MI, Patti Carnuccio and her wife Amber Waters of Gainesville, FL, Lorraine Carr and her husband Mike of Grand Ledge, MI, and Christine Hughes of Londonderry, NH. Also missing him are seven grandchildren, Kelly and Shaun Lynch, Stormy Waters, Michael and Nicholas Carr, John-Michael and Shelby Hughes and two great-grandchildren, Danny Lynch and Jaxon Carr. Larry’s siblings include his brother John Carnuccio and his wife Sylvia of Marlton, NJ; brother Sal Carnuccio and his wife Lovis of Berlin, NJ, along with four sisters Rita Perdicaro of Pennsauken, NJ, Mary Patton of Glenolden, PA, Rosalie Morelli of Broomall, PA, and Adeline Carnuccio of Mantua, NJ and a Brother-in-Law, Peter R. Flynn and his wife, Rose of Ocala, Florida. He also leaves behind his former wife, Lorraine Carnuccio of Lansing, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Larry was also the brother of Dominic J. Carnuccio, Ann Fosco, Frank Carnuccio, and Albert Carnuccio. This very large, tight family loves to dance and sing and dine in each other’s company as often as they could.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Larry will be celebrated on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, New Jersey 08051. Immediately following the Mass, a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Church Hall.
