Norma Elrod Foster, 65, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Fitzgerald Nursing Home, Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Greg Carroll and the Rev. David Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held from 7-9, Monday evening at the funeral home. A service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Lavonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hamby Funeral Home in Lavonia from 12 to 2 PM. Interment will follow.
Mrs. Foster was born June 21, 1939 in Stephens County Georgia to the late Fletcher Sanders Elrod and Sara Guynell Verner Elrod. She was a graduate of Carnesville High School and attended Truett-McConnell College at Cleveland. She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church and was a former member of Westside Baptist Church. Mrs. Foster was former clerk of Northside Baptist Church, former member of Colony City Lions Club, Fitzgerald Jaycees and Jaycettes, and 12 O’Clock Club of the Elks Lodge. She was a former resident of Winder, Carnesville, and Lavonia.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband: Pat Foster, Fitzgerald, GA; Mother: Guynell Verner Elrod, Carnesville, GA; 5 Brothers: Perry Elrod, Toccoa, GA, Mike Elrod, Carnesville, GA, George Elrod, Danielsville, GA, Weldon Elrod, Leavenworth, KS, and William Elrod, Penney Farms, FL; Sister: Faith Mattison, Klamath Falls, OR.
She was preceded in death by her father.
