SALEM: Frank M. Conti, 79, formerly of Beverly, died Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Sutton Hill Center, North Andover following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Lydia (Cuccarello) Conti.
Born in Beverly on July 24, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Marietta “Mary” (Marzilli) Conti. He had resided in Beverly most of his life before moving to Las Vegas several years ago and returned to Salem two years ago. He was a graduate of Beverly High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Frank was employed as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Beverly and Beverly Farms for over twenty-five years before his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Vittori Rocci Post #56 and the Italian Community Center in Beverly. He enjoyed bowling in several leagues over the years and loved to spend time in Las Vegas.
In addition to his wife of fifty-four years, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Paul White; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Marylou Conti; five grandchildren, Vanessa, Amanda and Cassandra Conti and Kaitlyn and Brianna Tanner; one sister, Mary Divasta and her husband Andrew; a brother-in-law, Geno Cuccarello and his wife, Irene; two sisters-in-law, Sylvanna Webster and her husband, Carl and Leda Cuccarello and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was also predeceased by his sister, Lucy Barter and brother-in-law, Fausto Cuccarello.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 1 – 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in Central Cemetery, Beverly.
