GILFORD – Audrey Mae “Ivy” Merrell, 83, of 71 Broadview Terrace, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Fremont.
She was born on June 21, 1932 in Amherst, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Charles O. and Verona (Landfried) Iverson. Audrey worked for a number of years as a Registered Nurse, most recently for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Gilford Community Church where she was a member of the choir. She was a member of the NH Music Festival, a Girl Scouts of America Troop Leader as well as a Cub Scouts Den Mother. Audrey served as a band camp nurse and served as a chairperson for the Gilford designer showcase. She was awarded the volunteer of the year award in Michigan in 1975. She enjoyed Playing tennis and bridge.
Survivors include a son, David Charles Merrell of Stamford, Conn; a daughter, Cindy Louise (Merrell) Savard of Fremont, N.H.; four grandchildren, Paul David Merrell, Jaimie Elizabeth Merrell, Andrew David Savard and Kaitlyn Mae Savard; one great grandchild, Violet Lynn Merrell; one brother, Charles Iverson Jr., one niece and five nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dr. David W. Merrell in 2014.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 1PM at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, N.H. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Raymond C. Wixson Memorial Garden, Gilford, N.H.
