Evelyn Clorite, age 85, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her home in West Paris, Maine surrounded by her friends and family. She was married 48 years to Robert Clorite Sr. (deceased). She is lovingly remembered by her sister Susan Hall and nine children: Barbara Clorite-Ventura. Anne, Robert Clorite Jr., Catherine Carr, Joseph Clorite, James Clorite,Elizabeth Evans ,Dorothy Clorite , Richard Clorite , 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren..
Evelyn graduated from Framingham State College and taught Home Economics in the Boston School System. Upon retirement, she and her husband Bob opened Millstone Crafts creating children's wooden toys. After retiring from the toy business, she volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, delivered for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed volunteering in Medway Public Schools as a teacher's assistant in the art department. She and Bob were also highly involved in the Democratic Town Committee, and she spent many years volunteering as a registrar during elections. In 2007, Evelyn and her dear friend Barbie Horowitz, were jointly honored to receive the Unsung Heroines of Massachusetts award for their volunteering efforts in the community.
Evelyn and Bob were avid travelers. She could boast that she visited every state in the United States, including Alaska with her daughter Liz.
Visitation will take place at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneral homes.com) 3 Barber St , Medway,Ma. Thursday July 23, 2015, from 4- 7 pm .Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Church, 151Village St in Medway, July 24 at 10 AM followed by her burial at St. Joseph Cemetery on Oakland St. in Medway.
