Russell C. Scannell of Natick passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Metrowest Medical Center of Framingham. He was sixty-nine years old and the husband of Carol Ann (Wadley) Scannell of Natick for forty-seven years.
Born in Natick on June 1, 1946, he was raised in Wellesley and a 1964 graduate of Wellesley High School.
Mr. Scannell was a carpenter by trade and worked for the Ernest Comeau Construction Corp. of Weston and John R. Elander & Son, Inc. of Waltham for many years and also owned and operated Scannell Construction now run by his son Michael.
Russell was a Natick resident for the last thirty-two years and enjoyed fishing in both salt and fresh water; carpenter work, vegetable gardening, his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, but he especially loved his grandchildren.
He was the father of Michael R. Scannell and his wife Chrissy of Hopkinton, Jill I. Tolson and her husband Christopher also of Hopkinton and the late Jennifer Carol Scannell.
He was a cherished grandfather of William R. and Madelyn P. Scannell and Michaela L. and Hailey R. Tolson. Brother of Charlotte Follansbee and her husband Art of Fairfax Station, Virginia, James Scannell and his wife Martha of Franklin and the late Richard Scannell and his wife Frances of Medway. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Thursday, July 23rd from 4:00-7:00PM.
Russell’s funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Friday morning, July 24th at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
