William Carota Jr., 75, of Lisbon CT passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Villa Maria Nursing Home after many lengthy illnesses.
He was born July 18, 1940 in Paterson, New Jersey, son of William Carota and Katherine Wooge. He married Lois J. Mayferth on February 7, 1962 in Oakland, NJ. He worked at Leslie Valve Company in Parsippany NJ prior to moving to Connecticut. He then worked at Electric Boat in Groton and retired from Foxwoods Resort Casino in 2009 due to illness. He had a remarkable talent for woodworking and building classic cars.
Besides his wife, Lois, he is survived by three children, Gary of Tomasville NC, Kevin of Mandeville, Louisiana and Deborah of Canterbury CT; 6 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Bruce Carota of Glouster Ohio and Carl Mett of Norwich CT. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Robert.
His family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 22, from 6 to 8pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Graveside Service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00am in Elm Grove Cemetery. All are welcome.
