LUDLOW – Thomas F. Moriarty, Jr., 54, of Ludlow, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, July 11, 2015. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on July 23, 1960, a beloved son of Geraldine D. (Joaquin) Moriarty of East Springfield and the late Thomas F. Moriarty, Sr. who was Called Home on December 8, 1985. He was raised and attended schools in Springfield and had lived in the city for many years before moving to Ludlow. Tom was employed for many years as a roofer and was a member of Local 248 in Springfield and had last worked for the Greenwood Roofing Company. During his younger years, he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed motorcycles and movies. Most importantly, he had a “Heart of Gold” and was always ready to help his family, his many friends or anyone in need. He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle and enjoyed spending time with his family and his three nephews. Besides his loving mother, Geraldine, he leaves his wife, Sandra Ann (Newell) Moriarty of Ludlow and her family; his loving brother and sister-in-law, Daniel M. Moriarty and his wife, Rosemarie, of East Longmeadow; his three cherished nephews, Cole, Max and Jake Moriarty; his dear uncle and aunt, Lionel “Butch” Joaquin and his wife, Joyce, of Westfield; his aunt, Maureen Robinson of Agawam; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the Moriarty and Joaquin families. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, East Springfield, MA 01104. His burial will be private at a later date for his family. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
