Norma M. (Sevigny) Silva, 80, of New Bedford died April 27, 2005 at The Oaks Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Silva.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Irene (McMahon) and J. Omer Sevigny, she had lived in Dartmouth for most of her life before returning to live in New Bedford in 1990. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Campbell Secretarial School.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth.
Mrs. Silva was formerly employed as an administrative assistant to the Chief Probation Officer at 3rd District Court in New Bedford for 30 years until her retirement.
She was a longtime member of the Catholic Womens Club and the Quota Club of New Bedford, and a member and Past President of St. Mary's Ladies Guild.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta K. Harrison of New Bedford; a son, Mark S. Silva of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a son-in-law, John Harrison, III; a sister, Roberta Janet Soares of LaMesa, Calif.; 2 grandchildren, John Harrison, IV, and Alexander Paul Harrison; and two nephews, Thomas S. Soares and John S. Soares, both of San Diego, Calif.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, April 30th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Friday, April 29th from 5-8 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
