Obituary

LITTLETON—Pauline Ann (Tarmey) Riley, 87 years old, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died early Tuesday morning at the Lifecare Center of Nashoba Valley, in Littleton, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Russell W. Riley.

She was born in Lowell, on July 20, 1917, a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Catherine A. (Carr) Tarmey, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School, Immaculate Conception High School and Tewksbury Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1939.

Mrs. Riley was the former Assistant Director of Nurses for Tewksbury State Hospital, and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. While residing in Lowell she was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and held membership in the Lowell Senior Citizens and the A.A.R.P.

Surviving her are a daughter: Martha Campbell, of Groton; two sons and daughters-in-law: John E. and Betty Riley, of Florida; and Robert and Patty Riley, of Gig Harbor, WA; eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late William Riley and Thomas Riley; and sister of the late Edmund Tarmey; Mary Mae Hession; Margaret E. Tarmey; Shirley Early; Thomas Tarmey; Brendan Tarmey; and Robert Tarmey.

Friends may call on Friday, April 29th, from 4 until 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, April 30th, at 10 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Tewksbury Hospital Patient’s Fund; 365 East Street; Tewksbury, MA 01876.
