RAYNHAM - Garry A. Whitfield, 22, of Raynham, formerly of Brockton and Bridgewater, died unexpectedly Sunday at Brockton Hospital.
Born Aug. 25, 1982, in Boston, he was a son of Garry M. Whitfield of Raynham and Donna L. (Russo) Whitfield of Brockton.
Mr. Whitfield was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School, Class of 2001, where he played football.
He was employed as a construction worker for Barnes Building Company in Weymouth.
Mr. Whitfield was a resident of Raynham, previously living in Brockton and Bridgewater.
He enjoyed the outdoors, wood working and was a loving caring young man.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Christopher and James Whitfield, both of Raynham; his sister, Nicole Whitfield of Raynham; a stepsister, Vanessa Ly of Jamaica Plain; his stepmother, Ana Whitfield of Raynham; his uncle and Godfather, William Whitfield of Stoughton and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral service will be held in Faith Chapel Assemblies of God, 340 Pleasant St. (Rte. 104), Bridgewater, Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Pleasant St. Cemetery, Raynham. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m.
