Daniel F. Scanlon, 83, of Medway died July 17 in the Medway Country Manor. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Griffin) Scanlon, who died in 1990.
Born in Boston, June 1932, the son of the late John and Mary (Bulgar) Scanlon,
Mr. Scanlon had lived in Natick for fifty years before moving to Medway three years ago.
Mr. Scanlon had been a carpenter for AF Underhill for many years.
He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union, The Wellesley Italian – American Club and the Natick Elks Club.
Mr. Scanlon served in the Massachusetts National Guard during the early 1950’s.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Scanlon and Joanne Scanlon of Natick, Lois Scott and David Scanlon of Medway, Amy Smith and Scott Scanlon of Griswold, Ct., Jeanne Donahue of Watertown and John Scanlon of Marlborough.
He is survived by his siblings, Kathleen Debattisa of Avon, Bernice Scanlon of Quincy and John Scanlon of Stoneham
He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great – great-granddaughter.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 21 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 4- 7 p.m.
