James Alexander Boatmon Sr. 82, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
Born in Hebbardsville, he was a retired mechanic and teacher for the JCPS, a Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict and Baptist.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Lizzie Boatmon; stepson, George Harp; and brother, Eldridge Boatmon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Norma L. (Dettlinger); step- children, Deborah Flake (Tommy), Theresa Harp (Kenneth) and David Harp; and one step- grandson, Michael Harp (Kasey Quiroa).
His memorial service will be 7:00 pm Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with visitation from 3:00 pm until service time.
