Obituary

WORCESTER-Albert T. “Albie” Cleary, 89, died peacefully Monday, April 25th surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Ann C. (Reynolds) Cleary, a son, William A. Cleary of Sudbury, 3 daughters, Patricia A. Gallo of Millbury, Shirley St. Michael of Laurel, MD and Joan F. Cleary of Worcester, a brother, Thomas Cleary of Worcester, 3 sisters, Alice Metros of Leominster, Mary Keeney of Harwich and Helen Cassavant of Worcester, 6 grandchildren, James Cleary of Brooklyn, NY, Karen Cleary Devine of Stow, Melyssa A. St. Michael of Bentonville, AR, Krystine St. Michael of MD, Laurie St. Michael of Laurel, MD, Jennifer Gallo of Millbury and many nephews and nieces. A brother, Gordon Cleary and 4 sisters, Mildred Cleary, Bridget Whalen, Elizabeth Lund and Joan Lucas predeceased him.

He was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia the son of Thomas J. and Mary A. (McGrath) Cleary and was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School. Mr. Cleary was a World War 2 Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. He had been employed as a Die Sinker by Wyman-Gordon Company for 20 years, he retired in 1972. Mr. Cleary was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, Hillcrest Country Club, Main South Post 341 American Legion and was an avid golfer.

The funeral is Friday, April 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, April 28th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
