Conrad L. Badeau, 89, formerly of Virginia Ave. Woonsocket died Tuesday July 7, 2015 at Trinity Health and Rehab Center in Woonsocket. He was the loving husband of the late Dolores (Sportini) Badeau. They were married on May 31, 1947 and shared over 67 year together until Dolores passed away on October 23, 2014.
Born in Woonsocket Mr. Badeau was a son of the late James and Odila (Charland) Badeau. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Badeau served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He then served as a police officer for the city of Woonsocket from 1952 until 1990. He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by a daughter Evelyn S. Lamontagne and her husband, Ronald, of Henderson, Nevada and a grandson Ronald J. Lamontagne and his wife, Maria, of St. George, Utah, and two great-grandsons Aidan and Ian. He was the brother of Jeanne Robidoux of Cumberland and the late Jean-Marie, Fernand, Jean-Marc, Raymond, Clement and Marcel Badeau, Aurore Toupin, Cora Hebert and Alice Lemonde. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Badeau was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Angelo and Eleanore (Couplet) Sportini. Also a lifelong city resident she was employed at W.T. Grant and later at Jacob Finklestien until retiring.
In addition to being survived by her family she was the sister of the late Edmund Sportini and Simone Drainville.
Services were private. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
