DUDLEY – Winifred F. (Jankowski) LaFountain, 90, of 23 Charlton Road, died Sunday, April 24, at her home. Her husband of 59 years, Henry N. LaFountain, died in 1992.
She leaves 2 sons, Henry J. and his wife Lorraine LaFountain of Webster, and Robert J. and his wife Nancy LaFountain of Waterloo, Iowa; 2 daughters, Shirley A. and her husband Frank Sabaj of Webster and Linda A. and her husband Charles Zacek of Dudley; 2 sisters, Cecelia Majka of Dudley and Marion Bombara of East Douglas; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Dudley, a daughter of John and Margaret (Nezuch) Jankowski, and lived here most of her life. She was a spinner at local textile mills, including Millbury Spinning Company. She retired in 1974 after working 12 years at Maanexit Spinning Company in Webster.
Mrs. LaFountain was a member of Saint Louis Church in Webster.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 28, in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster is directing funeral arrangements.
