Walter F “Mac” McWilliams, 86, of East Bridgewater, MA died on July 7, 2015 at Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Madeline (Cole) McWilliams for more than 50 years. He is survived by his daughter Grace McWilliams, his dog Ziggy of East Bridgewater, his sister-in-law Edith McWilliams of Whitman, his brothers-in-law James Cole of Virginia, Donald Cole of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.
Mac was born in Weymouth, MA in 1928, son of the late Norman and Annette (Miller) McWilliams. He was the brother of the late Thomas, Norman, and William McWilliams and the late Catherine Sickoll. He was raised in Rockland and graduated from Weymouth High Trade School in 1946. He served his country in the US Army as a printer until 1949. Mac worked at the Fore River Shipyard, and for many years, at Chester Print in Brockton and Baggia Printing in East Bridgewater. Mac was a long time member of the East Bridgewater Lions Club and the East Bridgewater American Legion.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18th at the Union Congregational Church, 105 Pleasant Street, East Bridgewater, MA at 11:00.
