DUGAN, Maureen S. (Sweeney) 63, passed away in her home, April 15, 2005 from a long-term illness. She was born in Boston and a long time resident of Indian Harbour Beach and Merritt Island, Florida. A former Media Resource teacher for Brevard County schools, Maureen continued to enjoy her love of books, listening to CDs of books and favorite show tunes until the day she died. Unsurpassed was Maureen’s love of family; loving wife, dedicated mother and beloved Mimi to her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bill Dugan, two children, Michael Dugan of Palm Bay and Susan Schroeder and son-in-law David of Merritt Island and five special grandchildren, Sean and Erin Dugan, Christopher, Lauren and Kevin Schroeder. The eldest of five children in a very close-knit family, she is also survived by her father, Edward J. Sweeney of Norwood and Mother the late Mary(Fitzgerald) ; sisters, Anne Marie Scannell and her husband Joseph of Norwood, Beth Knapp and her husband Richard of Ann Arbor, MI; brothers, Edward J. Sweeney, Jr., and his wife Ellen of Charlotte, NC and Michael Sweeney and his wife Maura of Foxboro. Maureen is also survived by her faithful caregiver and special friend, Josefina Dominguez De Rivas. A funeral mass was celebrated at Divine Mercy Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 20th.
