BERTHA "BERTIE" WALLING, age 65, of Weymouth, died on Friday, April 22nd at the Colonial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth after a long illness. Born in Hingham, Miss Walling has lived in Weymouth since the age of 6, graduating from Weymouth schools. She then graduated from Clark University in Braintree. For 30 years she worked for the Howard Johnson Company in Wollaston, then for Triple A (AAA) in Rockland as a travel agent before joining S. R. Weiner Associates of Chestnut Hill as a paralegal 5 years ago.
Daughter of the late George W. Walling and the late Bertha A. (Bates) Walling, she was the sister of Ruth Foley of Pembroke, Pauline Walling of Weymouth, Ronald Walling of Boynton Beach, FL, Walter Walling of Rockland, the late George, Philip, Richard, Betty, and Irene Walling, Muriel Gottlich and Natalie Collins. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services Wednesday, April 27th at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.
Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the South Shore, P.O. Box 859060, Braintree, MA 02185-9060 or to the Community Baptist Church,17 Mutton Lane, Weymouth, MA 02189.
The interment will be in the Hingham Cemetery.
