Manuel A. Lomba, 95, of New Bedford died April 17, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Dennis and Guilhermina (Lomba) Teho, he lived in Newport, RI, for most of his life before returning to live in New Bedford.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II with the 656th Ordnance Ammunition Company, and was a recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign ribbon and the American Defense Service medal.
Survivors include his guardians, Joseph and Anne Silva of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Joseph Dias, Manuel Dias, Matilda Pina, Dominga Baptista, Julia Silva, Mary Barros and Laura Barros.
His private Committal Service was on Friday, April 22nd at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
