Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Caroline M. (Solari) Hickey, 99 years, died Thursday at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home for the Aged in Middleboro after a brief illness. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret E. (Crowley) Solari, and attended Brockton schools. She was a longtime resident of Brockton, had moved to South Easton in 1982, and had been a resident at Hannah Shaw for the past 18 months. For many years she had been employed as a seamstress and sales clerk at the former Porters Women’s Department Store. She was a former member of the 20th Century Catholic Club, Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s Sodality, longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and a member of NARFE National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She is survived by one son Thomas B. Hickey and his wife Marie of East Dennis, two grandchildren, John S. Hickey and Faith A. Hickey both of Natick, MA, two great grandchildren Katherine A. Hickey and Daniel Joseph Hickey, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frederick Solari, Mildred Towle, Joseph Solari, Florence Parenteau, Gladys Baribeault, Clifton Solari, Edward Solari and Dorothy Stevens.
