TEWKSBURY - F. Anne Colpitts, aged 82 passed away on July 11, 2015. Anne was born March 31, 1933 in Boston, daughter of Frank and Florence Crowe. She grew up in Natick and graduated from Natick High School before continuing her education at Massachusetts Memorial School of Nursing, class of 1957.
Anne married Frederick Colpitts on December 5, 1959. She worked as a nurse for 30+ years before retiring from the New England Rehab Hospital.
For many years, Anne enjoyed working with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She just celebrated her 50 year membership with the Order of Eastern Star, Aurora Chapter this past spring. She was active with the Wamesit Chapter of the Order of Rainbow in Tewksbury. She was an avid New England Patriots fan, holding season tickets for over a decade and enjoying a full day at the game regardless of the weather.
Anne loved to travel. She travelled extensively within the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as England. She took a long desired cruise of the Panama Canal with her sister, Audrey, after their retirement.
Anne is survived by her children: Judy, Clayton, and Glenn, and granddaughters: Julia, Corinne, and Thalia.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Colpitts, her daughter, Lynn Rodriguez, and her sister, Audrey Bradley.
Anne's decision to donate her remains to the Boston University School of Medicine has been honored. She had always admired research done to advance patient care and understanding of illness.
