Betty Maxine Brantley, age 68 of Fitzgerald, died Friday, July 10, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, July 13, 2015 at The Paulk Funeral Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Chuck Taylor and the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends, Sunday evening, July 12, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Brantley was born in Ocilla, Georgia, December 16, 1946 to the late George Edison and Jessie Lee Fields Clements. She received her Registered Nurse degree from ABAC and her BSN degree from Georgia Southwestern University in Americus. She served as supervisor of Dorminy Medical Center Intensive Care Unit in Fitzgerald; she also worked at the Irwin County Health Department. Maxine enjoyed fishing; swimming with her grandchildren, chickens and dogs. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Travis Brantley; her two sons, Jim Brantley and wife Kathy, Jess Brantley and wife Kristy all of Fitzgerald; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Hines Clements and wife Marva of Brunswick and several other family members also survive.
