Philip A. Menard, 79, of Henderson, NV, died Friday July 10, 2015 in his summer home in Derry, NH. He was born in Lynn, MA on December 31, 1935, a son of the late Philip F. and Edith L. (Carter) Menard. He had been a resident of Henderson for the past seven years, formerly living in Chester, NH, W. Peabody, MA and Saugus, MA. He was a US Marine veteran. Phil retired from AT & T Technologies in N. Andover, MA after 30 years. He was a charter member and past president of the Chester Lion's Club for 37 years, a past District Governor of Lion's District #44H, and a member of the Chester Congregational/Baptist Church in Chester.
He is survived by his wife Sheryl I. Menard of Henderson, NV; his son, Gerald R. Menard and his wife Candy of Chester; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; his brothers, Ronald H. Menard of Nashua, NH, Stephen H. Menard of Fremont, NH, Nelson J. Menard of Mesa, AZ, Kenneth G. Menard of Bull Head City, AZ, Ernest Menard of Chester, Alfred Menard of New Boston, NH, Ralph Menard of Concord, NH, and David Menard of Chester, NH; his sisters, Jeanne Hicks of Londonderry, NH, and Theresa MacGregor of Durham, NH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy E. (Gosselin) Menard, his son, Stephen P. Menard, his brother, Danny Menard, and his sister, Judith Brown.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, July 16th from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch St, Derry, NH. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 17th at 10:00am in Chester Congregational Church, 4 Chester St, Chester, NH. The burial followed in Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Chester Lions Club, or to the Chester Congregational/Baptist Church.
