Clara M. (Williams) Haskins, 95, of New Bedford died Tuesday April 30, 2002 unexpectedly at home. She was the wife of the late Ernest T. Haskins, daughter of the late George and Eva Williams.
Born in Port Murray, New Jersey, she had lived in Allentown, Penn. before moving to New Bedford 55 years ago.
She was a member of the former Douglass Memorial A.M.E .Zion Church.
Mrs. Haskins was formerly employed by Aerovox Corporation for 25 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Carney Lodge of Elks and the Buttonwood Senior Citizens. She was an excellent cook and an avid card player.
Survivors include 7 grandchildren, Amelia Proctor-Wallace of Ohio, George Houser of New Bedford, and Vernadine Houser, Charles Houser, Barry Houser, Jerry Houser and Harry Parker, Jr., all of Allentown, Penn.; 3 sisters, Corrine Williams and Helen Williams, both of New Bedford, and Della Williams of Allentown, Penn.; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late Harry Parker and Pauline Houser, and grandmother of the late Richie Houser. She was also predeceased by six siblings.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 4, 2002 at 9:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday May 3, 2002 from 5-9 PM.
