Obituary

STERLING-Mildred J. (Slauenwhite) Parzick, 82, of 15 Clemence Avenue died Monday, April 18th peacefully at home. Her husband, William J. Parzick died in 1988. She leaves her sister, Esther M. Chanonhouse of Salem, NH, her friend, Nancy Metcalf of Princeton, several nephews and nieces.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Robert and Lillian (Bolliver) Slauenwhite and lived there and in Sterling since 1960. She graduated a Horace Mann Scholar from Commerce High School in 1941 and from the Felt and Tarrant School of Comptometry in 1942. Mrs. Parzick worked in the payroll department at the Norton Company for 19 years, retiring in 1989. Previously she was employed as a policy typist and loan clerk at the Paul Revere and Massachusetts Protective Life Insurance Companies; a cost of sales accountant at the American Steel and Wire and a damage claim analyst and adjuster at Wright Line. She also was a production control clerk and secretary to the Vice President of Production at a local shoe company. Mrs. Parzick was a Past Noble Grand of Naomi Rebekah Lodge, #18, I.O.O.F. and had the honor of being the youngest P.N.G. in the state at the age of 20. She also held the office of Adah in Stella Chapter, #3, Order of the Eastern Star and courier in the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and sang in the choir and was a member of the Epworth League in her younger days, she loved music and the arts and was a self-taught accordion player.

The funeral is Thursday, April 21st at 2:00 PM, with a Noami Rebekah Lodge burial ritual, in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1048 Main Street, Worcester, MA, 01603.
