Norma A. Harrington

PLYMOUTH, MA - Norma A. Harrington, age 62, a Plymouth woman with family in
Tewksbury, died unexpectedly at her home in Plymouth on Thursday, April 14th.
She was born November 9, 1942, a daughter of Anna M. (Stowell) Harrington of Tewksbury and
the late Norman P. Harrington. She was raised in Revere and graduated Revere High School with
the class of 1960. Upon graduation she joined the Carmelite Sisters of the Aged and Infirm,
where she served the women’s religious order for more than 17 years. She left the order 26 years
ago, and moved to Plymouth in 1981, where she continued to aid the disadvantaged at Habit
Management Inc.’s Brockton and Quincy rehabilitation clinics for drug abuse.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a sister, Kathleen Hart of Tewksbury; a nephew, Salvatore
Ruocchio and his wife Kerriann (Penny) of Tewksbury; a grand niece Mikayla; a grand nephew
Jake; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, April 19, in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main st. (Rte 38) Tewksbury. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Carmelite
Sisters of the Aged and Infirm, St. Theresa’s Mother House, 600 Woods Road, Germantown, NY
12526, will be appreciated.
