Obituary

WORCESTER – Leo A. Lavallee Sr., 90 of 42 Litchfield Street died peacefully Friday, April 15 at home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 66 years Estelle E. (Dumais) Lavallee; two sons Leo A. Lavallee Jr., and his wife Maureen of Millbury and Raymond R. Lavallee of Worcester; three brothers Edward of Grafton, Russell of Wellfleet and Richard of Worcester; a sister Arlene Forgit of Oxford; a grandson Stephen C. Lavallee and his wife Tina of Barre; four great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers Henry and Ernest and a granddaughter Wendy Morello who died in September 2004.

Leo was a devoted husband and father and always had a willingness to help someone.

He was born in Worcester on July 18, 1914 son of the late Israel and Cecile (Doucette) Lavallee. He worked for E.L. Dauphinais in North Grafton for 36 years retiring in 1976.

He was a member and Past Grand Knight of Leicester Council 4528 Knights of Columbus and the John Cardinal Wright Assembly 4th degree Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Leicester Social Club and served on its board of directors. He was a member of the Local #170 Teamsters Union and Holy Name of Jesus Church and its Golden Age Club.

The funeral will be on Monday, April 18 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street with a mass at 10 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday, April 17 from 6 to 9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to UMASS Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605 or to Holy Name of Jesus Building Fund, 51 Illinois St., Worcester, MA 01610.
