George H. Smith of Dedham, died April 12, 2005 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Smith was born in Brookline and was the son of the late Charles and Katherine (McGuire) Smith. He has lived in Dedham since 1956 and owned and operated the George Smith Fences in Dedham.
He is survived by his wife Hannah J. (Clougherty) Smith. His children Ann E. Prondak and her husband Charles of Wrentham, and Mary K. Schafer and her husband Michael of Winter Park, FL. Grandfather of Cody Prondak, and Elizabeth and Stephanie Schafer. He was the brother of Marion Dugan, Dorothy Hart, Florence Godfrey, and the late Esther Arancio and Charles Smith.
Funeral services at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Friday at 11 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
