Obituary

John A. Cronin, 78, a resident of North Andover, Ma, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Lawrence General Hospital.

Born in Lawrence, MA, John was a 1954 graduate of Central Catholic High School and then went on to attend Merrimack College. He had worked for the former Bay State National Bank. John was very active in Pro-life activities. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Michael's Church as well as the North Andover Knights of Columbus. John was involved with Operation Rescue of Boston as well as the Lawrence Airport Commission, the Ralph DiOrio Healing Ministry, and the St. Michael's Men's Group. He was a former member of the Greater Lawrence Kiwanis Club, a member of the Massachusetts Citizens for Life, the Cursillo Movement of St. Basils, a founding member of the Board of Directors and active volunteer of the Lazarus House Ministries. John had also served in the United States Army.

Members of John's family include his wife of 54 years Constance "Connie" (Joy) Cronin, his children: John W. Cronon of North Andover, MA, Anne Marie Tennison and her husband Darren of Federal Way, WA, Daniel G. Cronin of Haverhill, MA, and Christopher P. Cronin and his wife Staci of Acton, MA. John is also survived by three grandchildren: Brady Tennison, Wyatt Cronin and Ella Cronin, sister-in-laws: Sr. Madeleine Joy, S.P. of West Springfield, MA, and Eleanor Cronin of Florida, brother-in-laws: William H. Joy and his wife Nancy of Concrete, WA, and Chet Campbell of North Andover, MA, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a cousin. John was predeceased by his siblings: Sheila, Terry, Priscilla, David, and twin brother Michael.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael's Church, 196 Main St., North Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
