Lauren E. Crump, 26

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Lauren E. Crump, age 26, of Mansfield passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee on April 11, 1989, she was a loving daughter of Alfred L. “Chip” Jr. and Corry L. (Cook) Crump of Mansfield.
Lauren lived most of her life in Mansfield and was a 2006 graduate of Mansfield High School. While in high school, she was a standout athlete who excelled as a pitcher for the girls softball team.
Following graduation she continued her education and had the opportunity to attend and play starting pitcher for the girls softball team at Dean College in Franklin. While at Mansfield High School, Lauren was a popular student and also served as a cheerleader for the boy’s basketball team and participated in Project Teammate.
Lauren had most recently worked in customer sales at the Home Depot in Mansfield and was formerly a manager in the shoe department at the Sports Authority at Mansfield Crossings.
Lauren was actively involved at the Waters Church in North Attleboro. She was a loyal New England sports fan and the loved the great outdoors. When younger, she enjoyed fishing with her father and for several years had attended Camp Aldersgate in Rhode Island.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her dear sisters Lexi M. Crump of Woonsocket, RI and Emily V. Crump of Mansfield. She was the cherished granddaughter of Theda “Tedi” Hornung and her husband Ronald of Mansfield, Richard Cook of Westfield, Bettye Crump of Lawrenceburg, TN and the Late Alfred L. Crump, Sr. She is also survived by her loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, July 14th at 11:00 in the Waters Church, 15 John L. Dietsch Blvd, North Attleboro. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday July 13th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Waters Church in North Attleboro.
In lieu of flowers, Lauren’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Providence Rescue Mission, 627 Cranston St., #1, Providence, RI 02907.
Those sending flowers, please have them delivered on Monday directly to the Waters Church in North Attleboro.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
