Felton H. Blackstock, 87, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, July 5, 2015, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Lauren Walker will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Wilcox County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Blackstock was born December 7, 1927, in Owensboro, Georgia, to the late William Oral “W.O.” and Sarah Orene Fitzgerald Blackstock. He served his country honorably in the United States Army as well as the United States Air Force. Mr. Blackstock moved to the community in 1990 and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and supporting the Atlanta Braves. He was a member of Crossview Baptist Church and formerly a member of the VFW.
He is survived by three sons and their spouses: Ronnie & Judy Blackstock of Fitzgerald, Jimmy Blackstock of McGregor, Texas, and Mike & Stacey Blackstock of Albany; four grandchildren: April Blackstock, Michael Blackstock, Jason Blackstock, and Landon Blackstock; stepson: Robert & Linda Guest; step-grandchildren: Lance Guest and Robbie Guest; and a sister: Orene Trowell of Stone Mountain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two stepsons: Gerald Guest and Lanier Guest and the mother of his children: Bernice Walker Blackstock.
