Macaronis, Nicholas of Weston, June 30, 2015. Beloved husband of Elissa (Coutoulakis) Macaronis for 53 years. Devoted father of the late Melanie Macaronis Brown. Grandfather of Elissa Rose Brown of California. Nicholas was pre-deceased by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nicholas was a prominent Lowell attorney and a Suffolk University trustee. The son of immigrants, Nicholas was born at the height of the Great Depression and the youngest of 7 children. He worked many jobs as a youngster to assist his family and attended Lowell High School where excelled in Sports. His skills as a baseball player led to him being signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. After an injury cut short his baseball career he turned to the study of law graduating Suffolk University in 1954. After serving in the United States Army in 1951 and working as a trial lawyer for a Boston law firm, Macaronis opened his own law office in Lowell in 1957. As a resident of Weston, Nicholas was president of the board of directors of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and was involved with the Greek Diocese of Boston as well as St. Demetrios Church of Weston.
Funeral Service in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St. Weston, Monday at 11:30am. Visitation prior to the service from 11:00 - 11:30am in the church. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Nicholas’ memory to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St. Weston, MA 02493.
