Obituary

Josephine T. (Nasiatka) Godomsky, age 87, of 29 School Street, Mystic, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 8, 1917, in Old Mystic, the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Zawojska) Nasiatka.

She married the late Alexander P. Godomsky on May 25, 1940, at St. Patrick's Church in Mystic. He died Dec. 4, 1993.

She had worked for many years at the Mystic Velvet Mill where she was a weaver.

She and her husband were well known for growing blueberries at their School Street home and what started as a hobby had them harvesting from over 300 blueberry bushes. She also loved to work in her garden and work around her home.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed deeply by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Nowak and husband, Robert, and by her grandchildren, Michael S. Nowak and Stephen A. Nowak.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Bolaslaw Nasiatka.

Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Wednesday from 6 to 8pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10am at St. Patrick Church in Mystic. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Old Mystic. There will be no procession from the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Josephine Godomsky's memory may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 32 E. Main St., Mystic CT 06355 or to the VNA of SE CT, 403 North frontage Rd. Waterford CT 06385.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to her grandson at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St. in Norwich
