Mullin, Kathleen “Kathy” of Wellesley passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2015. The daughter of John and Virginia O’Hara of Wellesley, she attended Wellesley High School, graduated college from UMass Boston and earned her masters degree in counseling from Framingham State University. In addition to being a beach lover, she was a devout parishioner at both St. James the Great and St. John the Evangelist.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter, Katie Mullin Trainor, her son in law, Chris Trainor of Sudbury, MA, and her five granddaughters, Kaleigh, Kiera, Emma, Kennedy and Katelin.
A long-time social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, she dedicated over thirty years advocating for and providing security to the state’s most underserved and vulnerable populations. Her compassion for others extended beyond her profession and was exemplified by the manner in which she devoted herself to her family and community.
Kathy treasured her role as the matriarch of the family and was a devoted caretaker and companion to her sister Ginny O’Hara until her passing in 2001. Kathy is survived by her siblings John O’Hara of Wellesley; Dave O’Hara and his wife Kathy of Hooksett, NH;
